Maybourne Hotel Group Selects Kronos to Automate Scheduling for Operational Staff
1st February 2012, Wokingham UK – Maybourne Hotel Group has selected Kronos® to manage scheduling for all operational staff at its headquarters and three luxury hotels in London: Claridge’s, The Berkeley, and The Connaught. The Kronos employee scheduling solution will be used at these four sites by nearly 1,500 employees and will help the organisation more effectively control labour costs and improve workforce productivity through complete automation of the scheduling process.
Ralf Balzer, Director of IT, Maybourne Hotel Group explains: “As a five star luxury hotel group with a high ratio of staff to guests, one of our largest costs is salaries. With Kronos in place, we will be able to improve the control of costs whilst maintaining the high service levels for which we are famous.”
Prior to selecting Kronos, staff scheduling was handled manually at the Maybourne Hotel Group using a variety of methods including spreadsheets. This meant it was difficult to keep track of staff costs and the process was time-consuming. Once the decision was made to implement a workforce management solution, Maybourne Hotel Group carried out a thorough review of all systems available in the market. Balzer continues: “We looked at a number of different systems and selected Kronos as it alone satisfied all the criteria that we needed. We were particularly impressed with the flexibility it offered and the expertise Kronos has in our industry sector.”
Kronos will integrate with the Maybourne Hotel Group’s HR and business forecast systems and will give the Group full transparency to all operational staff labour costs. Other benefits include reducing the time spent on creating staff schedules and processing payroll by 50 percent.
